Founded in the thirties by Vincenzo Nason, heir of one of the most ancient families of Murano, the glassworks has established itself in the period of greatest artistic splendor of the island with a brand that became well known in Italy and also abroad.
The company, on a surface of six thousand square meters, had about twenty ovens and could also produce 15 different colors daily.
It was one of the last furnaces to continue the production of industrial glass, including for example lighting components, bathroom accessories and dental practices. It had always been run by family members.
In its moment of maximum expansion, until 2000 the company had about 80 employees and was one of the largest on the island of Murano.
In 2004 Nason & C. closed its doors, and was declared bankrupt.

Mi permetto di scrivere, perché ho acquistato in un mercatino dell’usato a Lugano in Svizzera (10€) un “portagioie”, sicuramente creato in una vetreria di Murano. La “box” ha delle misure di 13 × 8.5 × 7.8 cm e pesa uno kg 720gr
Come si potrà vedere dalle mie foto (sembra che purtroppo non posso qui allegare le fotografie), ha all’interno questo raffinato colore verde e credo che i bordi sopra e sotto, siano in oro, Non è firmato, quindi avevo scritto a Alessandro Mandruzzato, visto che ha simili portagioie in vendita. Lui mi risponde che non sia stato prodotto da lui, ma dalla fornace Vincenzo &
Nason negli anni ’70. Posso chiederle se mi potrebbe confermare questa oppinione? Scusate il mio disturbo, però non saprei sinceramente dove potermi rivolgere altrimenti. Grazie per l’attenzione e rimango con i miei migliori saluti
